Over Sexualization of our Daughters

Between Toddlers & Tiara's, dance competitions, and December's issue of the French Vogue it's easy to see the over sexualization of little girls. That's what a recent post by Council for Biblical Manhood & Womanhood talks about. I never even heard of the show Toddler's & Tiara's until today. Watching a 7 minute clip of it was disturbing enough-to say the least. I'd encourage you to read the post yourself. As christians, this article helps parents answer this question: What can parents do to help prevent the over sexualization of their daughters?

Here are the 3 points:
1. Help preserve inward beauty
2. Help preserve sexual purity
3. Discipline and teach them in the Lord.

For now I'll leave you with this picture. Consider the verse below the picture.

Do not let your adorning be external-the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry or the clothing you wear but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
1 Peter 3: 3-4

What will we impress upon our daughters when it comes to trends & fashion, and their hearts?
